Haven't you read the other posts on here, how many times do you need it said to understand.
Teenagers do not rule in the adult employment world. Your hybrid language is very easy to understand, basic in fact but it gives the impression that the writer is illeducated and this is frowned upon by employers. You are at the bottom of the pile again, when you leave school and you will have to do what your employer requires or lose that job, you do not have a choice and text language will not enter into it.
It is not for the employers to learn your language, it is for you to learn the correct use of English up to an understandable point. No one is asking for perfection but text language just does not cut it in the business world. Employers do not have time to waste on the fads of teenagers, they are there to earn money to pay wages and run their businesses.
I have found exam results will get you the initial interview for a job, but are you going to fill in the application form in hybrid English, of course not. This is mainly used on mobile phones but does not transfer to the written page especially when sending letters to customers or abroad. I have a degree, there are many many more people like me with far higher qualifications than GCE's who will be in line for jobs before you.
Why you think the text language is beyond the understanding of adults is laughable. By all means use it with your peer group in your social life but wise up if you think adults and employers are going to even give any teenager the time of day if they expect them to give in to a inexperienced inflexible young person who thinks the world should do what she thinks.
Dont think I am arguing with you, I do not need to, I do not have to because it is not going to change a thing. That is the way it is, you wont change it and the sooner you realise this, the better it will be for you. I know it is harsh but that is the adult world, you will be entering in the future, it is up to you, Good luck.

Poppy I think you reflect the tough employment world in which qualifications and experience count for a look. Young people will have to complete with experienced adults for jobs. Communication, interpersonal and transferable skills are highly prized in the work play. Many young people have or are gaining these skills. However, there are many, especially young men that have not acquired these English communication skills of reading, writing, speech and grammar. This does sadly limit them in the jobs and business market. There are a few exceptions, however sport and media celebrities by their very nature have a limited number of billets. Many get left along the verge of this fame trail.
I would encourage young people to find a way to enjoy reading and writing. I myself stated at 13, despite 8 years of previous county sports, with books like the hobbit and comics that progressed to to both fiction and non fiction interests. It was tough as a late starter, yet managed a degree at a top university and a resonably successful career. A degree is not the be and end all, but the basis employment, communication and transferable skills picked up along the way are important.

You can slate the oap's as much as you want Tom, but it is you who wants a job and with your clever dick attitude all it is going to get you is a flea in your ear.
Face it, perhaps you had better take your French fast track and toddle off to France, you wont get anywhere here and the sooner you wake up and smell the coffee, the better for you.
You dont deserve a good job, you have attitude, no experience and will not conform to the everyday language of the business world, so nobody will employ you, the only one to suffer is yourself.
Get real, you are not clever, just being immature and silly and showing exactly why you havent been able to get a job before now.
Perhaps when you grow up, show willing and contribute something back to society, you just might be able to stand in line with the other young people who have shown initiative and are way in front of you in the job market.
They are the young people who deserve a chance and then there are ones like you who give them a bad press.

Tom,
Having been an employer in a large firm, employing both capable young and mature employees, I can reflect back to you that it will be largely your attitude that will deny you work than your age. Employers are looking for people who fit it, don't abuse others (read your poast), ability, work as a team player and are good at communicating, without getting the backs of others up.
Reflect!

How right you are.
Having worked for 44years for just 3 different employers, and having been responsible for interviewing and taking on staff for my departments, I can assure the 'angry' teenagers who are posting on this forum, that its not JUST qualifications that will get you a job.
Personality and your approach to work are probably the most important qualities that a lot of employers will put very near the top of the list. I found in many instances that it was quite often the people with the least qualifications who made the best employees. They didn't come along with over inflated ideas of their knowledge and importance and were willing to learn.
You may be at the top of the heap at school, but remember that when you get your first job you will be at the very bottom of a very large heap, and unless you are willing to conform, at least at first, you won't get very far up that heap. Its time to make your mark when you have proved yourself to your employers. What you learn at school is just a start, you only really start to learn when you get your first job.

ENOUGH!
The boy asked how to get a job not to be critisized by a bunch of big headed adults. Now i know his grammer wasn't exactly perfect and when adressing adults we should type in long hand not slang. But if there are any people out the who do have a genuine interest in giving this lad a job please leave a message but if ure just going to critisize him them go away. Thank you
*!*hope this makes u smile*!*
p.s i am also 14 and lookin for a job any interest?

Hi, I'm 15 and also looking for a job, preferably in Thrope St Andrew. Just a quick note while I am here to people like kenneth on the first page; don't discriminate or have a go at the younger generation just because of that: we're younger, as that is what it's coming across as to me. Anyway, I would like to see the things you've accomplished before you start criticsing as it is rather unfair on those that have done nothing wrong. Also, why do people think that just because someone is under 18, that makes them dumb or thick or stupid or whatever you want to call it. I know for myself that I am accademically safe (not trying to be big-headed) and can probably work to a better standard than the majority of adults in the country in certain aspects of the job world, for example: implementing the use of ICT comes as a second nature to me as I have designed numerous websites and graphics designs that companies and communities have taken onboard. But back to the topic, more jobs should be made available for people like me and other young people; we need money nowadays for luxeries that probably were not around in the times of most parents nowadays. Things cost money; money doesn't grow on trees; parents get fed up and can't afford to support their own chicldren when they need it; as a result the children need money to live on, so make jobs available in my opinion.

Excellent post Blacey
That is the attitude and will take you far, I congratulate you on your post and your points are taken on board.
I wish you well in your potential chosen career and the ways you are going about it.
If I might make a point in return, we as adults, do not think that under 18's are dumb or thick, that is a stereotypical generalisation towards us just as much as you think we stereotype young people.
If we are approached for a job by someone who has manners, is willing and has shown initiative in finding a job, it can only work in their favour.
On the other hand, if we are approached by the last poster, with the attitude shown in the post, what would you do if you were in our shoes?
We are aware that young people write and text to each other in this abbreviated way, that is fine in their limited school environments, but in the real world of commerce, it wont be and only in a limited way, if at all.
I do not know if you have seen The Apprentice, but the rules of the world apply even to these high achievers, so young people must aspire to emulate this if they are to succeed even the first hurdle of their careers.
Actually, the last poster might like to know that adults find the majority of young people are just great, it just seems the demons come out when they sit in front of a computer, I bet if we were to meet her in person, we couldnt find anyone nicer.
