Is now the right time for our brave and heroic Troops ,to withdraw from Iraq and Afghanistan .The past week has been terrible loss of young life .With the Taliban scum gathering more and more fighters to attack our troops. We are under-strength in the amount of personnel and hardware that we have out there. As an invading force we can never overthrow a nation that hates you with hearts and minds .As the Russians found out, A dignified retreat with a hero's welcome home for when they leave. God bless them all.

The reality is we could come out of Iraq tomorrow without significant security issues/consequences. I would have a 6 months withdrawal plan/ drawdown where the last UK troop by Christmas.

On Afghanistan, I give them another 18 months max, most as trainers/overwatch, get the Helmand local security/ government up to strength; and thats it. Most of Afghanistans solutions lie in improved economic wealth and improved economic/political relationships with its neighbours Iran, Pakistan, Tajistan etc, as an isolated country. You can't solve Afganistans problems from /by the UK/US, with western ideas/solutions.
