A paper boy or girl would be the first place to start as the previous person said, but my suggestion would be to study a bit harder in school, for a 14 year old your spelling could use some help.

I too was a bit suprised at Jasons spelling Anne, then my daughter pointed out to me that this is how many of the teens speak together when online, a different language from ours. But I give the lad credit..it was a genuine appeal. Lets hope he`s lucky.

I think, if anyone was to communicate to a mixed age forum, they should use the type of spelling and grammar used by most people. It does not give a very good impression to future employers if a job applicant has poor spelling and grammar. If someone has problems with their spelling and/or grammar they should ask someone to help. There is, of course, a spell check on this forum. Many of us make the odd mistake in typing a post but the general level of grammar is good on the Archant forums. Jason, of course, is not the only one who posts with spelling mistakes - there is another person who has put on a number of badly spelled posts and no-one has said anything.

Give the boy credit he's a 14 year old boy who wants a job (there is not many) And not many people want to do paper rounds ! He's 14 his spelling is not going to be as well as a us adults!! Children should be given the chance to work at a young age it brings them into the adult world! That is why there is so many unemployed people now???

Oh please give the poor boy a break! He does a decent thing and writes in to get help from you people, and all you can do is insult his intelligence! I'm 14 too and WAS going to do the same thing as Jason did, but now I've seen this, I don't want to waste my time. This proves that adults don't give us teenagers enough credit! Pffft! Oh and Kenneth who do you think you're writing to? The Queen? For your information, we are in the 21st Century!

I'm a bit disappointed by the attitude of some of the people here!
It's tough when your 14, I remember, I think until your 16 there are restrictions on how many hours you can work, so a paperround is about the only thing you can do! Fair play to you Jason for your initiative, I only wish I could help, sometimes you just have to keep trying by yourself!
Yours is the kind of attitude that gets you places! Nevermind about the typing or grammar skills, whilst they are important its not the be all and end all of everything! Some of the UK's top businessmen and women dont have the best grammar or spelling! Not everything today is like it was 50 years ago and thank goodness! Times change, try and realise that this is the 21st century!!!

Isn't it wonderful that at least two of the posters' on this site, seem to know we are in the 21st century?
It is a shame, though, that neither of them have much of a grasp of English language usage. It must be a 21st century thing!
Well, never mind, someone has to serve the french fries and collect the rubbish.

norfolk_steve thanks for actually giving us teens some credit! However, as for you Kenneth, yes someone has to serve the fries and collect the rubbish and that someone won't be me. For your information; I've been fast tracked and am taking my english and german GSCE's early. Looks like your not the only one who can 'grasp' the english language.
Also i would like to say i have nothing against bin men or fast food workers. Not everyone can be as perfect and intellectual like my friend Kenneth here.
^^ The above comment Kenneth is known as sarcasm. Although you may not be familiar with it as you seem to take everything so seriously. Here's a definition:
Sarcasm is sneering, jesting, or mocking a person, situation or thing. It is often used in a humerous or ironic manner and is expressed through vocal intonationss such as over-emphasizing the actual statement or particular words.
Is that good enough for your high expectations Kenneth?

Well when I was 14 years I would weed their gardens, water plants and pots with a can and sweep drives. The elderly or very busy professionals would really appreciate this and would give me £5-10 for an hours work. Its something one may do in your local neighbourhood with a minimal of tools, a hoe, trowel, gloves, brush and pan; but it is a service and makes gardens. It is time consuming and at first the mind bores, but eventually gets into a relaxed state. It is important to get to know basic weeds and grasses. One can learn and recognise this quite quickly. It helps if you have a reference/ permission letter from your parents or your form teacher to say who you are, that you are an honest and hard working person. It makes good summer work but do your homework and know who you are working for and involve your parents maybe to ask on your behalf. Work for neighbours or relatives that you and your parents know and vet. Be neat and meticulous to do a good job. Don't get involved with machinery, ladders or cutting jobs. Keep it simple and safe. Make sure you have bottled water, lunch, a mobile to call your parents for help, sun cream, a hat to protect from sun, take breaks and pace yourself.

Just checking, Keeley, when you wrote; "Looks like your ...." Did you mean to write; "It looks like you're..."
Also, when you wrote "Humerous, did you mean to write "Humorous"? I believe Humerous is something to do with funny bones ;-)
Thanks for your input. Keep up with the fries.
And as for those GCSE's, I understand they give those away in cereal packages these days.
