Come prepared for the weather and have a good time!

• The Park & Ride has extended opening hours and First Bus have extra supervisors on duty in the city centre, to guide and advise passengers, and relief double-deckers to get people home. Please use Park & Ride, buses, trains, walk or cycle, as cars in the city centre should be kept to a minimum to reduce congestion.

Please do not bring glass bottles to this event

For any enquiries that you may have please contact our Event Information lines on Tel 01603 212626.These lines are staffed on Friday from 9am-5pm, Saturday from 9am-10pm and Sunday 10am-5pm. (Please do not ring the police for information as this means emergency calls can not get through).

Disabled seating
• Free seating to view the Procession is offered to people who have difficulty with standing for any length of time by The City of Norwich Lions
• The seating is situated opposite the old N&N Hospital. Spaces are also available for wheelchairs and ramps are provided
• Toilets and light refreshments are available.
• 100 seats are available on a first come first served basis. To book your seat, call Mike Dixon on Norwich 429186. The closing date for bookings is 5 July.
• Free car parking for people booked in is available at Marsh. Passes for the car park will be made available when the booking is taken.

Travel

  • All people coming to the event are advised to use Park & Ride, train, bus, walk or cycle.
  • All the park and ride sites will be open to support this event. The normal bus timetables will operate until 1730 to ensure people can get into and out of the city centre.
  • All City buses will depart from ROUEN ROAD/ROUEN HOUSE from 1815 onwards. Buses will operate an extended evening service after this time, with the last buses leaving the city centre at approximately 2330. If this is too early for you then you can always get a taxi back to the site as the exit barriers will let you out!
  • All bus stops will have a controller on site to ensure there is orderly boarding to return back to the sites.

The All Saints Green, Castle Meadow, Tombland and Anglia Square bus stops will relocate to Duke Street opposite the premier hotel from 5:30pm
Harford – service 602

This service will operate as normal from bus stop D at Norwich bus station.
Postwick – service 605
The Prince of Wales Road, Rose Lane and Castle Meadow bus stops will relocate to bus stop A at Norwich Bus Station - from 1730 onwards
Costessey – service 604
This service will operate as normal from bus stop C at Norwich bus station
Sprowston – service 606
The All Saints Green, Castle Meadow, Tombland and Anglia Square bus stops will relocate to Duke Street (opposite the Premier Hotel) from 1730 onwards.

The taxi rank on St Peters Street is closed all day. All other taxi ranks will be operating as normal.

General event safety information
Glass and alcohol
You are asked not to bring any glass bottles or alcohol to the event. The city centre streets are all designated alcohol free zones.

Facilities
There will be additional toilet facilities on, Bethel Street and Chapelfield Gardens. All City centre public toilets will remain open until the event closes.

There will be an outdoor bar in Chapelfield Gardens

First Aid
There will be First Aid available in the information unit on Millennium Plain and Chapelfield Gardens and St John’s Ambulance will be out on foot patrol along the carnival route. In the event of an emergency, please dial 999.

Lost
Anyone who is lost or has lost someone should head for St Peter Mancroft Church on Saturday evening and the Chapelfield Gardens Information tent Friday – Sunday where we will try and reunite you with your children, friends or family.

Charity
All money collected on the carnival will go to the Lord Mayors and Sheriffs designated Charity
